General information: Florence, the capital of Tuscany, is home to about 370,000 people. The city is a popular tourist destination and attracts several million visitors every year. The historic city center was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers numerous attractions, the cityscape is particularly characterized by Renaissance architecture. The University of Florence, which has over 50,000 students, is one of the oldest universities in Italy. It comprises twelve faculties and over 230 degree programs.

Study programs and specializations: In the Laurea Triennale L-24 (comparable to the bachelor's degree), a general curriculum is taught in the first two years, and specializations in clinical and health psychology, social and organizational psychology, psychological cognitive processes, and developmental and educational psychology are offered in the third year. In the Laurea Magistrale LM-51 (comparable to the Master) there are two different programs; one deals with Clinical and Health Psychology, Neuropsychology and Cognitive Assessment, the other with Development, Educational Psychology, Social and Organizational Psychology.

Study schedule: The winter semester runs regularly from mid-September to mid-January. The summer term begins in mid-February and ends at the end of July.

Other Information: Erasmus students can participate in Italian language courses. There are also support services provided by multicultural tutors who speak the common languages of international students. These help with local integration, academic and organizational issues.
